Hardware
The
Co-Logic GuardPoint Internet Server is a Intel manufactured unit about the size
of an metropolitan phonebook. It contains a Pentium 350 mhz processor and
32mb of Ram, hard disk and two 10/100base-T network ports. The hard
disk is important because it provides caching for the web pages
visited. This allows fast loading from subsequent visits from any
of your staff.
One of
the network ports is connected to your internal LAN and the other is connected
through a small hub to the Internet access device. In most cases, Co-Logic
provides the Internet access device and it varies depending on type of service
chosen. It could be a DSU/CSU/Router for frame relay, ISDN router, Cable
modem or DSL router.
Co-Logic maintains a local supply of replacement parts
that can be substituted in within several hours. If our remote technician can not
resolve the problem quickly, a field service technician is dispatched for local
repair or replacement.
